Lucien stepped through the bookcase and pulled it closed, his gaze unfocused as he tried to make sense of the madness in which he’d just engaged. He managed to find the liquor cabinet and pour himself a glass of whisky. Swallowing all of it, he barely tasted the alcohol before it settled in his gut. Rather than pour another, he set the glass down and stumbled to the hearth.

He put his hand on the mantel and bent his head, taking deep breaths to calm his racing pulse. Unlike Kat, he hadn’t reached a relaxed state following her orgasm. He was more agitated with lust than ever.

No, it wasn’t all right. She was Ruark’s sister, and after Lucien’s reaction to Ruark and Cass’s relationship, it was beyond hypocritical. But it wouldn’t happen again.

Except, if he could fetch her back here, he’d do it in the beat of a heart. One thing was certain: he couldn’t just go down to the assembly with this raging erection and unfulfilled lust.

Exhaling a series of curse words, he threw himself in a chair near the hearth. He leaned his head back and closed his eyes, then unbuttoned his fall.

The scent and taste of Kat filled his senses as he pulled his cock from his garments and stroked the length. He imagined her hand around him, her inquisitive gaze, her lush lips as she licked them in anticipation. He groaned as his body galloped toward release.

“Can I help?”
